Robins Kaplan is pleased to announce that Roman Silberfeld was elected President-Elect of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers at the organization’s annual meeting on April 13 in London.

The International Academy of Trial Lawyers is an organization of elite trial lawyers representing both sides of the bar: prosecutors and defense lawyers in criminal cases, and plaintiffs’ and defense counsel in civil litigation. The Academy is limited to 500 fellows nationally and is by invitation only, after a rigorous vetting process. The Academy’s purposes are to promote reforms in the law, facilitate the administration of justice, promote the rule of law internationally, and evaluate the standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession.

“I am deeply honored and humbled for this opportunity to serve an organization that has done so much to promote excellence in the legal profession,” Silberfeld said. “It is a highlight of my career.”

Silberfeld has more than 40 years of experience as a trial litigator in civil and criminal cases, including white-collar crime, environmental, personal injury, antitrust, and securities law. He has been lead counsel in a number of high-profile trials, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

Silberfeld was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers in 2002, and has previously served on the organization’s Board of Directors, as Dean, Vice President, and Chair of the Admissions.
