Liz Fors Honored as Member of the Year by Minnesota Association for Justice
August 21, 2023
Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that partner Liz Fors has been named a 2023 Member of the Year by the Minnesota Association for Justice (MAJ). She is recognized for her commitment to advancing MAJ’s mission while exemplifying legal excellence, professionalism, and ethics.
Fors is a longtime member of MAJ and has served on its Board of Governors since 2017, as well as its Legislative Committee since 2021. As co-chair of the Legislative Committee, she played a crucial role in helping to get the Minnesota Survivorship Bill passed during the 2023 legislative session. This bill, which has been a priority of MAJ’s for over a decade, expands the damages that families can pursue after the death of a loved one.
Fors focuses her practice on personal injury and medical malpractice. In August 2017, she and her co-counsel obtained the largest wrongful death case in Minnesota history and what is believed to be the third-largest verdict in the United States for a wrongful death case for these types of damages. The verdict was listed among the Top 100 Verdicts of 2017 by The National Law Journal. In May 2023, Fors received a $2.5 million jury verdict in a wrongful death lawsuit against Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Fors has been recognized for her achievements by The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, Minnesota Lawyer, and more.
