The American Lawyer Ranks Robins Kaplan Among Top 25 Firms in Nation For Pro Bono Work In 2023
July 12, 2023
Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that it ranks among the top 25 firms in the nation for pro bono work according to The American Lawyer’s annual pro bono survey, which highlights the AmLaw 200 firms with the deepest commitment to pro bono work.
In 2022, Robins Kaplan provided over 16,500 hours of pro bono service to those who could not afford legal representation, to nonprofit organizations, and to clients seeking redress for violations of their civil rights, and to advance the public interest. The firm provided those services in partnership with over 60 nonprofit organizations.
“We are proud that our attorneys consistently donate their time and skills to help bridge the access-to-justice gap,” said Geoff Kozen, Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee.
Over the past year, the firm’s pro bono matters have included partnering with OutFront Minnesota and OutLaw to offer a recurring transgender name change clinic; advocating for the express wishes of children in the foster care system; recovering unpaid wages; and achieving favorable outcomes on behalf of low-income tenants facing eviction, clients with aged criminal records that were severe barriers to employment, and asylum applicants fleeing persecution in their home countries.
