Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation
- Chambers USA
Bringing a long history of extraordinary courtroom victories and successful IP asset monetization and innovation defense to the full spectrum of intellectual property representations.
We Define Intellectual Property Litigation
Our Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation Group has a long history of extraordinary courtroom victories, IP asset monetization, and innovation defense. We have had multiple IP enforcement efforts on behalf of plaintiffs where revenues in each exceeded $100 million. We have also successfully defended hundreds of millions of dollars of technology and brand investment. Working across IP’s most important practice areas, we have litigated and monetized technologies as diverse as software, microprocessor design, laser jet printers, MRIs, and cameras.
Our record includes arbitration and international arbitration successes, as well as those in federal district court, the Federal District Court of Appeals, and before the International Trade Commission. These results have fueled numerous practice recognitions, including selection as the American Lawyer’s first-ever “IP Litigation Department of the Year.” They have also served as the foundation for our firm’s selections as an “A-List” firm by the American Lawyer, top rankings from Chambers USA, and our selection as a “Go To Law Firm” by Corporate Counsel.
We’ve Unraveled the Technology Genome
Our intellectual property lawyers have worked in technical disciplines ranging from biophysics to electrical engineering, software, and hardware. Many of our trial lawyers are registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Our team also includes non-lawyer Ph.D. scientists who hold degrees in biochemistry, molecular biology, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or mechanical engineering.
Together, we have created technology-based solutions like OneBudget® software program— our proprietary suite of LPM tools— and an in-house Ediscovery practice group to help clients control costs and provide budget certainty, transparency, and clear case communication. Our clients appreciate our dedication to technology and our ability to find and present solutions.
We’re Innovation-Ready
We represent some of the world’s largest multinationals and most innovative, emerging companies. Companies like Best Buy, Honeywell, Medtronic, General Mills, Pitney Bowes, The Toro Company, and Great Clips have all selected us as their intellectual property litigation counsel. We also represent many younger, growing corporations. As a result, our IP attorneys have honed their knowledge in the technologies and business issues that drive the industries in which our clients operate.
Pinpoint IP®: Our Proprietary Approach to Patent Analytics

Using our proprietary approach to patent analytics, Pinpoint IP, our intellectual property litigation attorneys, Ph.D. science and engineering advisors, and financial and economic consultants leverage their know-how – earned litigating big IP cases on both sides of the courtroom – to help innovators and investors evaluate IP, identify hidden value, and better maintain, defend, or monetize technology and innovation assets.
