Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Marcus Guith, Sean O’Connor, and Raoul Shah have been promoted to partner, effective January 1, 2026.

"Marcus, Sean, and Raoul have each built remarkable practices through hard work, creativity, and a genuine commitment to their clients," said Tony Froio, Chair of the Executive Board and Managing Partner at Robins Kaplan. "Their promotions to partner recognize not only their individual accomplishments, but the impact they have on the firm as a whole and the clients we serve every day."

Marcus Guith (Minneapolis) is a trial attorney in the Business Litigation Group, focusing on complex civil litigation. Drawing on his four years of experience clerking for federal judges at both the district and appellate levels, Marcus brings strategic insight to every stage of litigation. In 2024, he was part of the trial team recognized as “Attorneys of the Year” by Minnesota Lawyer for achieving a $73 million jury verdict in a complex product liability case involving a propane-powered forklift that exploded at a tissue mill, causing extensive property damage and business disruption. Over four years of litigation, Marcus and the team navigated robust discovery, more than fifty depositions, and numerous pre-trial motions, culminating in an eight-week jury trial and successful jury verdict.

Sean O’Connor (Los Angeles) is a trial attorney in the Insurance and Catastrophic Loss Group. He represents domestic and international insurers in complex, high-value property insurance disputes, including business interruption, supply chain disruption, and bad faith claims arising from catastrophic events such as wildfires, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and other large-scale losses across the United States. Sean brings a deep understanding of insurance policy formation, interpretation, and coverage analysis, and he regularly leads matters from case inception through discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, mediation, and resolution. He has been named to The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch and serves as a trusted advisor in high-exposure coverage and bad faith disputes nationwide.

Raoul Shah (Minneapolis) is a trial attorney in the Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, and Civil Rights Group. He has tried more than two dozen cases to verdict as a first-chair attorney, and obtained meaningful recoveries for clients harmed by negligence, medical errors, and civil rights violations. Raoul’s work has earned him recognition in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch and as one of the Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers. He also maintains a robust pro bono practice, advocating for clients in family law, immigration, and civil rights matters, and has been honored with multiple awards for his commitment to pro bono service. In 2025, he was elected to serve on the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Section Council and as the President-Elect of the Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association, reflecting his leadership in the legal field.
