Sandra Badin
Sandra Badin
Counsel
Experience
Sandra Badin is an experienced litigator and appellate attorney in our insurance practice; she handles commercial property and commercial liability claims for U.S.-based and international insurers. A former patent litigator, Sandra has vast experience with appeals and high-priority motions in the federal district courts and before the International Trade Commission. Sandra crafts winning motions and briefs by translating complex information into simple, clear arguments, and by presenting difficult, fact-intensive arguments cogently and persuasively.
Sandra is also committed to pro bono work. She currently serves as co-chair of the Amicus Committee of the Boston Patent Law Association and previously co-chaired the Amicus Committee of the Women’s Bar Association. She has co-authored amicus briefs to the United States Supreme Court and state supreme courts across the country on behalf of non-profit organizations including the ACLU, the ASPCA, the BPLA, the National Network to End Domestic Violence, the American Jewish Congress, the Anti-Defamation League, and US Inventor, Inc. Sandra is also a Board Member of the Alan D. Lourie Boston Intellectual Property American Inn of Court.
While in law school, Sandra held an Edmond J. Safra Graduate Fellowship in Ethics and the Professions at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. She also served as a teaching fellow and research assistant to several professors and as a judicial extern to Justice Lorene B. Ferguson of the Navajo Nation Supreme Court. Before joining Robins Kaplan Sandra took a sabbatical from private practice to clerk for Judge Leo T. Sorokin of the District of Massachusetts.
