Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Raoul Shah has been elected to serve on the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA)’s Appellate Practice Section Council. His term will begin on July 1, 2025.

The MSBA Appellate Practice Section is dedicated to advancing the practice of appellate law in Minnesota by providing continuing legal education, fostering connections with the bench, and offering pro bono training opportunities in appellate advocacy.

Raoul brings to the Council a distinguished track record of trial experience and will offer a fresh perspective in advancing the Council’s mission at both the trial and appellate levels. Raoul is a seasoned attorney in the firm’s National Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, and Civil Rights Group, and Appellate Advocacy and Guidance Group, where he has handled complex legal matters at every stage of litigation. Throughout his career, Raoul has tried approximately two dozen cases to verdict as a first-chair trial lawyer and written multiple appellate briefs.

“Raoul is a relentless advocate for justice with a deep commitment to serving others, especially the most vulnerable. He approaches every case with integrity and thoughtfulness, and his election to the MSBA’s Appellate Practice Section Council is a well-earned recognition of his leadership in the legal community,” said Peter Schmit, Chair of the National Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, and Civil Rights Group.

Before joining the firm, Raoul clerked for the Honorable John R. Rodenberg on the Minnesota Court of Appeals, then served as an attorney in the child protection system and a felony prosecutor with a focus on crimes against children. He earned his J.D. with honors from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2017.
