Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that partner Tim Purdon has been elected President of the National Association of Former United States Attorneys (NAFUSA) for 2027. Purdon has served on the NAFUSA Board for several years and has previously held several leadership positions within the organization.
Founded in 1979, NAFUSA is a membership organization for former United States Attorneys that hosts an annual conference to provide a forum for education, the continuation of professional relationships formed within the U.S. Department of Justice, and the exchange of information among its members. The 2027 Conference will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Purdon served as the United States Attorney for the District of North Dakota from 2010 to 2015 and was the state’s chief federal law enforcement official. During his tenure, he was appointed to the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee and chaired its Native American Issues Subcommittee.
At Robins Kaplan, Purdon serves as Chair of the American Indian Law and Policy Group and co-chair of the Government and Internal Investigations Group. He splits his time between Robins Kaplan’s Bismarck, North Dakota and New York City offices. Drawing on over three decades of experience in private practice and public service, Purdon represents clients in complex investigations, high-stakes litigation, and tribal governments involved in historic disputes.
