Robins Kaplan mourns the death of Liz Fors, a fierce advocate and cherished member of our firm for nine years.

Liz was widely recognized as a leading medical malpractice and personal injury attorney, serving clients across Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. Her unwavering commitment to clients led to groundbreaking settlements and verdicts, including a historic $20.6 million jury verdict—the largest medical malpractice wrongful death award in Minnesota’s history at that time.

Beyond her courtroom successes, Liz was deeply involved in the legal community, serving in leadership roles with the Minnesota Association for Justice and numerous other professional organizations. Her dedication extended into mentoring, volunteerism, and advancing justice both in and out of the courtroom.

Before law, Liz brought the same passion to a decade-long career as an Emmy-nominated producer in live sports television, demonstrating her extraordinary drive and diverse talents. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, with passions that included knitting, sports, travel, and spending time with loved ones.

“Liz’s spirit, generosity, and fierce advocacy touched the lives of her clients, colleagues, and community alike. She left a lasting impression on all who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed,” said Tony Froio, Chair of the Executive Board and Managing Partner at Robins Kaplan.
