Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that partner Rayna Kessler has been selected to receive the Compassionate Counsel Award from The Milestone Foundation, recognizing her outstanding advocacy, compassion, and dedication to her clients.
The Compassionate Counsel Program honors attorneys who exemplify the values of fairness, empathy, and justice both inside and outside the courtroom. According to The Milestone Foundation, “these individuals go above and beyond in serving their clients, advocating tirelessly for justice while also caring deeply about the personal challenges plaintiffs face.”
As Section Leader of the New York Individual Rights Practice, Kessler has built a national practice representing individuals harmed by powerful institutions and corporations. Her work on behalf of institutional child sex abuse survivors includes securing a historic landmark $11.75 million dollar judgment in New Jersey’s first clergy sexual abuse trial against a Catholic Church entity. Her approach to her clients is marked by a trauma-informed advocacy that prioritizes client trust and empowerment. Rayna continues to represent survivors in claims against institutions including the Catholic Church, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Boy Scouts of America, helping clients pursue justice while navigating their lifelong trauma.
