Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Melissa D’Alelio has been selected to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s 2025 Top Women of Law list. This annual list recognizes exceptional attorneys who serve as role models, educators, trailblazers, and pioneers within the Massachusetts legal community.
Melissa is a nationally recognized litigator with a focus on complex commercial and insurance-related disputes. She serves on the firm’s Executive Board and chairs the Insurance and Catastrophic Loss Group. She is known for her relentless advocacy, sharp legal analysis, and deep industry knowledge across high-stakes insurance and reinsurance matters, including those involving property and liability coverage, catastrophic events, computer fraud claims, COVID-19 litigation, and extracontractual bad faith assertions.
Over the course of her career, Melissa has secured major victories for insurers in jurisdictions across the country, particularly in pandemic-related litigation. She has also helped shape policy language and regulatory strategies for major insurance carriers. Known for her tenacity, collaborative spirit, and diligence, Melissa has earned industry-wide respect for her ability to translate complex legal issues into actionable strategies.
In addition to her legal practice, Melissa is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of women lawyers and advancing diversity in the legal profession. She co-founded the firm’s Women in Insurance Group and launched the Insurance Insight newsletter, which highlights and features women’s voices in the insurance industry. She has received numerous honors, including being named "Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyer of the Year" by Euromoney, recognized as a "Women Worth Watching" by Profiles in Diversity Journal, and earning consistent high rankings in the Chambers USA Guide for Insurance in Massachusetts. She has also been accepted into the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC).
