Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that James Kitces, Managing Partner of the firm’s Boston office, has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel.

The American College of Coverage Counsel is a national organization comprised of over 400 preeminent lawyers involved in coverage and extracontractual matters, with Fellows representing policyholders, insurers, and Honorary members from academia. Established in 2012, the College is focused on the creative, ethical, and efficient adjudication of insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, peer-provided scholarship, professional coordination, and improvement of the relationship between and among its diverse members.

Kitces is a nationally recognized insurance coverage and reinsurance litigator who represents insurers and reinsurers in high-stakes first-party property, third-party liability, subrogation, arbitration, and reinsurance matters. He has secured favorable outcomes for clients in significant coverage disputes involving business interruption, catastrophic property losses, bad faith claims, construction matters, and mass torts.

In addition to his litigation practice, Kitces regularly presents on insurance industry and litigation topics for organizations including the Property & Liability Resource Bureau and the Loss Executives Association. He has been recognized by Chambers USA as a “Leading Practitioner in Insurance” and has been named a Massachusetts and Georgia Super Lawyer. He currently serves on the Law360 Insurance Authority Property Editorial Advisory Board.
