Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that partner Anne Lockner has joined the Advisory Board of Groundwork Legal, a Minnesota-based nonprofit public interest legal-services organization dedicated to advancing justice and democracy. Founded by Robins Kaplan alum, Chelsea Walcker, and Irina Vaynerman, Groundwork Legal uses impact litigation, government-systems reform, policy advocacy, and public education to strengthen democratic institutions and expand opportunity for communities across Minnesota and beyond.
Lockner has long combined her legal practice with a deep commitment to public service and nonprofit leadership. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Children's Theatre Company, where she serves as Chair of the Board Affairs and Governance Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee. She also recently completed her term as Chair of The Fund for Legal Aid and continues to serve on its Executive Committee. Throughout her career, she has served in leadership roles with organizations including The Advocates for Human Rights, Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, Georgetown Law Alumni Board, The Basilica of St. Mary, and The Basilica Landmark.
“I admire how Chelsea and Irina have transformed their passion and talent into an organization of such consequence at this critical moment,” Lockner said. “Groundwork Legal’s commitment to using the law as a force for positive change and its pragmatic approach to solving problems are more important than ever. I'm honored to join the Groundwork Legal Advisory Board and look forward to supporting its work to address complex challenges, strengthen communities, and advance justice and democracy.”
