Robins Kaplan LLP is Investigating Child Sexual Abuse by Individuals Linked to American Kennel Club (AKC) Dog Shows
Robins Kaplan LLP is investigating instances of reported child sexual abuse by individuals associated in some capacity with the American Kennel Club (AKC), an organization that hosts thousands of dog show events a year and throughout the country.1
News publication Business Insider recently published an article titled “The American Kennel Club’s Pedophile Problem,”2 which alleges some adults, including a former AKC employee and a dog breeder, were convicted of sexually abusing minors. After they were convicted, the perpetrators were not suspended by the organization or local clubs, giving them the ability to return to the sport. This caused known perpetrators to continue attending AKC-sponsored events and potentially endangering other minors.
The article alleges multiple instances of those involved with the AKC or the dog-show community being accused or convicted of the possession of child sex abuse material, inappropriate touching, and other claims of sexual abuse involving minors.
