Alternative Dispute Resolution
When faced with seemingly irreconcilably legal conflict and the prospect of lengthy litigation, many clients find that mediation can lead to a much swifter – and more cost-effective – resolution than litigation in the courtroom.
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is an alternative solution to civil litigation and public court battles. Through our assisted mediation and negotiation process, our professionals serve as a neutral third party to help parties resolve conflicts successfully.
Robins Kaplan's mediation services are headed by attorney Larry Farese. Larry has more than 40 years of litigation experience and now concentrates his professional practice solely on ADR mediation.
In 2001, Larry became certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a certified circuit court mediator. Since that time, he has been called upon by private parties and the judiciary to serve as a mediator of a wide variety of civil disputes, particularly complex business and trust and estate disputes. His experience and performance as a mediator has earned him an invitation and admission to the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
As a mediator, Larry works to quickly build a rapport with all parties, evaluate party dynamics, and ensure that all perspectives are heard and respected. Drawing upon his decades of experience as a litigator, Larry helps parties find creative solutions, overcome stalemates, and reach an accurate assessment of the risks and opportunities they face. Ultimately, Larry’s goal in each case is to help parties reach a settlement that will allow them to avoid the time investment, expense, and uncertainty of a litigated solution.
Mediation via Videoconference
In addition to in-person meetings, Larry offers mediation via videoconference. Robins Kaplan’s secure videoconference solution provides all the tools needed to recreate the clear, open, face-to-face, confidential, and secure environment that is critical to successful mediation, helping clients resolve conflicts from the comfort and safety of their own homes or offices.
