Avocent Huntsville, LLC v. ZPE Systems, Inc.
Lead counsel representing Avocent Huntsville, LLC and Avocent Corporation in a series of consolidated actions against ZPE Systems, Inc., Arnaldo Zimmerman (ZPE’s co-founder and CEO), and Livio Ceci (ZPE’s co-founder and VP of Engineering) in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Suit alleged infringement of two Avocent patents covering computer network management appliance technologies. Avocent also asserted allegations of trade secret misappropriation and breach of contract. The disputes resolved in a confidential settlement following patent claim construction hearing.
