Christopher Sullivan Elected President of the Massachusetts Bar Association

Christopher P. Sullivan, partner at Robins Kaplan LLP, has been elected president of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA). His one-year term began on September 1, 2017.

As president, Mr. Sullivan will reinforce the notion that the MBA is an organization for all Massachusetts lawyers, regardless of practice area or employer. Mr. Sullivan also intends to promote civic and community involvement among Massachusetts attorneys, encouraging attorneys to become what he calls “attorney citizens.” In addition, he intends emphasize the bedrock principles of legal representation, such as due process and access to justice, and strengthen the MBA’s relationship with the judiciary.

Mr. Sullivan has long been an active member of the MBA. He currently serves on the Executive Management Board and in the organization’s House of Delegates, and previously served in the roles of treasurer, secretary, and vice president. He is also a fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, the philanthropic organization associated with the MBA.

In his legal practice, Mr. Sullivan focuses on the civil jury trials of complex litigation matters, such as financial and securities cases and intellectual property matters. A litigator with more than 40 years of experience practicing law, Mr. Sullivan has resolved more than 300 lawsuits in a wide range of substantive areas of practice. He has been named a “Super Lawyer” every year since 2004.
