Robins Kaplan Appoints New Leadership for National Intellectual Property & Technology and Trial Groups
August 6, 2024
Robins Kaplan LLP announced today that Logan Drew has been named Chair of its National Intellectual Property and Technology (IP&T) Litigation Group. Drew succeeds Christopher Larus, who will now serve as National Trial Chair alongside Roman Silberfeld to lead the firm’s trial practice.
“These leadership changes represent an exciting new chapter for our firm,” said Anthony Froio, Chair of the Executive Board and Managing Partner at Robins Kaplan. “I’m confident that Logan and Chris will excel in their new roles, advancing our strategic goals and ensuring continued success for our clients.”
Logan Drew has been a pivotal member of the firm’s IP&T Group for over 15 years, serving as an advisor and advocate for clients in intellectual property matters, ranging from individual inventors to large players in the semiconductor and computing industries. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex patent infringement matters, technology licensing, and contractual disputes relating to clients’ critical IP assets. His litigation experience spans a wide range of technical fields, including semiconductor fabrication techniques and process control, integrated circuit design/architecture and power and thermal management, high-speed interfaces, image and graphics processing, graphical user interfaces (GUIs), mobile device technology, and consumer electronics. Drew is recognized among the IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists, and he previously served as Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee from 2018-2023.
“Logan’s deep knowledge and strategic vision in IP&T will be invaluable as we continue to provide top-tier legal services for our clients,” Froio added.
Christopher Larus, who has been a leading force in complex patent, trade secret, trademark, copyright, and licensing disputes for over 25 years, will continue his active practice while also taking on the role of National Trial Chair. Larus is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and certified as a Civil Trial Law Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association. He has received numerous awards for his professional accomplishments, including recognition in Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Litigators in America,” the IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists, Benchmark Litigation’s “Litigation Stars,” and more.
“Chris’s exceptional trial skills will be crucial as he brings innovative ideas and strategies to our trial practice,” Froio said. “His contributions in leading the IP&T Group have been vital, and we are excited to see his continued impact in his new capacity.”
