August 24, 2022

Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Sherry Roberg-Perez has been selected to receive Minnesota Lawyer’s 2022 Diversity & Inclusion Award. This award recognizes organizations and individuals who are significantly advancing diversity, inclusion, and justice for all within Minnesota’s legal community.

Dr. Roberg-Perez is a partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation Group and immediate past co-chair of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. She is an M.I.T-trained Ph.D. who leverages over a decade of experience working as a molecular biologist in her patent litigation practice, which is focused on biotechnology and medical device clients. Dr. Roberg-Perez also has an active pro bono practice, including representing transgender people in custody who are denied access to appropriate medical care.

“Sherry has been vital to advancing the firm’s diversity initiatives,” said Rita Holmes-Bobo, the firm’s Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. “She helped implement the firm’s award-winning Leaders Engaged in the Advancement of Diversity (LEAD) program and played a key role in establishing the firm’s quantifiable goals to increase recruitment, retention and advancement of historically underrepresented groups of attorneys.”

Dr. Roberg-Perez has been recognized for her professional accomplishments and leadership, being named a “Women Worth Watching in Leadership” by Profiles in Diversity Journal, a “Minnesota Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers, and a 2014 fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity.

Dr. Roberg-Perez will be honored at an award ceremony on October 5 at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
