Marc Betinsky Appointed to Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel
August 1, 2022
Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Marc Betinsky has been appointed by Chief Judge Patrick J. Schiltz to serve on the Merit Selection Panel to advise the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota on the selection of a new U.S. Magistrate Judge. The panel will evaluate and recommend the most-qualified candidates to the District Judges for their consideration.
Marc is a member of Robins Kaplan’s Civil Rights and Police Misconduct Group, representing plaintiffs in cases alleging police misconduct, jail neglect, and other types of unconstitutional government action and inaction. Previously, he spent more than 11 years working at the U.S. District Court as the career law clerk for Judge Richard H. Kyle in St. Paul. In that role, he served as the Judge’s chief advisor on a wide variety of civil and criminal litigation, including numerous cases alleging police misconduct and other civil rights violations.
