Five Robins Kaplan Firm Members Recognized by Minnesota Lawyer
July 22, 2022
Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Emily Niles and Emily Tremblay have been named 2022 “Up & Coming Attorneys” by Minnesota Lawyer, and business professionals Nicholas Adler, Joseph Chen, and Emily Lawson have been recognized as “Unsung Legal Heroes.”
Emily Niles is a trial attorney who represents businesses and individuals in high-stakes cases at the intersection of science and the law. In 2021, Emily served as trial counsel in a personal injury case where her team secured a $27.8 million jury verdict, including $10 million in punitive damages. She litigates a wide range of intellectual property, business, and personal injury disputes involving patent infringement, trade secrets misappropriation, business tort, individual tort, and breach of contract claims. Emily is also a registered patent attorney and has experience with inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
Emily Tremblay is a patent litigator who protects and monetizes her clients’ intellectual property and technology, as well as helps clients grow and protect their competitive positions in the markets where they operate. Emily represents clients in complex, multi-million-dollar patent litigation across technologies and the country, including plaintiffs and defendants in the pharmaceutical, medical device, video streaming, semiconductor, and mechanical spaces. Prior to joining Robins Kaplan, she clerked for federal judges for four years.
Nicholas Adler is an Investigator who handles a wide range of complex investigations at the firm, responding immediately to the scene of an accident and working closely with attorneys from the earliest stages of investigation to the courtroom. Dr. Joseph Chen is a Science Advisor and Technical Consultant Manager who provides insightful analysis of the scientific and technological aspects of many of the firm’s most complex intellectual property cases. Emily Lawson is a Business Development Manager who serves as a trusted advisor to the firm’s Antitrust and Trade Regulation and Intellectual Property & Technology Litigation practice groups, as well as to the firm’s in-house suite of interdisciplinary professional services known as Acumen Powered by Robins Kaplan LLP®.
The prestigious “Up & Coming Attorney” award is given to a few select lawyers within their first 10 years of practice based on their excellent and distinguishing performance. The “Unsung Legal Heroes” award is reserved for Minnesota’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals. This award honors law firm employees who have consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty, often behind the scenes.
