November 12, 2021
Robins Kaplan is pleased to announce that Brendan Johnson has been recognized as a 2021 Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal. This annual list recognizes attorneys who have moved the needle with innovative legal strategies and out-of-the-box thinking that is changing the practice of law.
A Former United States Attorney for the District of South Dakota, Brendan Johnson has spent his career trying cases, deposing hostile witnesses, and cross-examining experts. While serving as an U.S. Attorney, Johnson was selected by the Attorney General of the United States to chair the Department of Justice’s Native American Issues Subcommittee and to serve on the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s American Indian Law and Policy Group, as well as Co-Chair of the Government and Internal Investigations Group.
Johnson has been recognized for his accomplishments by numerous organizations. He was named one of the nation’s top 40 political rising stars under the age of 40 by The Washington Post, and Campaigns and Election listed him as one of the 500 most influential people in politics. Johnson was recognized by Chambers USA in Nationwide Band 1 for Native American Law and Indian Country Today named him to their “Hot List” of attorneys.
