The Recorder Recognizes Roman Silberfeld As a California Trailblazer
October 13, 2020
Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Roman Silberfeld has been named a California Trailblazer by The Recorder. The award recognizes agents of change in the practice or business of law in California.
Silberfeld has more than 40 years of experience as a trial lawyer in civil and criminal cases, including white-collar crime, environmental, personal injury, antitrust, and securities law. He has been lead counsel in a number of high-profile trials, representing both plaintiffs and defendants, and earned more than 50 trial victories, including a $319 million judgment against Walt Disney in a case over profits from ABC’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.” The verdict he secured in that trial is the largest ever obtained in a Hollywood accounting lawsuit.
Roman has also performed groundbreaking work in mass tort litigation and is considered a leading class action attorney. In one series of actions over LCD displays, he recovered more than $400 million for national retailer Best Buy. Most recently, he served as lead counsel in In re Wells Fargo Collateral Protection Insurance Litigation, which settled in November 2019 for $432.4 million.
A leader both within Robins Kaplan and in the legal community at large, Silberfeld serves as the president-elect of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, an exclusive body of civil and criminal trial lawyers from 30 different countries worldwide. Silberfeld was also appointed by California Governor Gavin Newsom to serve as a member of the Judicial Selection Advisory Committee for Los Angeles County.
