Robins Kaplan Attorney Ami ElShareif Receives Minnesota Lawyer’s Diversity and Inclusion Award
August 21, 2019

Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Ami ElShareif has been selected to receive Minnesota Lawyer’s 2019 Diversity & Inclusion Award. This award recognizes institutions and individuals who have “gone above and beyond in their efforts” to create a more diverse and inclusive legal community. The firm won the group award last year.
ElShareif is an active participant in the firm’s attorneys of color community, and is a vocal member of the firm’s Racial and Ethnic Diversity Working Group. She is also a member of the firm’s Hiring Committee and Mentoring Committee, where she advocates for the hiring, mentoring, and retention of diverse attorneys. She previously served as the Chair of the Hennepin County Bar Association’s (“HCBA”) Diversity and Inclusion Committee and, before that, co-chaired the HCBA’s 1L Minority Clerkship Program for three years. She previously sat on the Federal Bar Association’s Diversity Committee for the District of Minnesota and was a member of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice’s Young Lawyers Group.
ElShareif’s legal practice focuses on a variety of business litigation disputes, ranging from breaches of contract to employer-whistleblower defense, debt collection practices, and food labeling issues. She is an integral part of the firm’s fast-growing healthcare practice, and has helped litigate several high-stakes fraud schemes on behalf of some of the nation’s largest insurers. She received Minnesota Lawyer’s 2018 Up & Coming Attorney Award, as well as the Hennepin County Bar Association’s 2018 Excellence Award, which honors HCBA members who have contributed to the community, the organization, and the legal profession.
ElShareif will be honored at an awards ceremony on October 10 in Minneapolis. To see the full list of 2019 Diversity & Inclusion Honorees, click here.
