Experienced Appellate Litigator Joins Los Angeles Office
August 8, 2018
Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Glenn A. Danas has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office. A member of the firm’s national Appellate Advocacy and Guidance Group, Danas has argued over 35 appeals and authored dozens of briefs in venues across California, including many divisions of the California Court of Appeal, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and multiple cases in the California Supreme Court. In recent years, Danas has achieved significant wins before the California Supreme Court, including the consumer protection matter McGill v. Citibank and the employment cases Williams v. Marshalls and Iskanian v. CLS Transportation Los Angeles.
“Glenn comes to us fresh off significant victories before the California Supreme Court and with a mastery of appellate law in the federal courts,” said Michael Geibelson, managing partner of the firm’s Los Angeles and Silicon Valley offices. “His experience and breadth of knowledge make him an ideal resource for our clients as we continue to expand our California practice and safeguard results on appeal.”
Danas’ courtroom victories have earned him recognition from numerous organizations. In 2017 Danas was named among the “Top 100 Attorneys in California” by the Daily Journal, and in 2015, Danas’ work on Iskanian v. CLS Transportation Los Angeles led to his selection as one of California Lawyer’s “California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year” (CLAY award). Danas was also named one of the “Top 20 Attorneys in California under 40” by the Daily Journal in 2013, and has been named one of the “Top Labor and Employment Attorneys in California” by the Daily Journal each year from 2015 to 2018.
“We are very excited to welcome Glenn to the firm’s appellate practice,” said Eric Magnuson, leader of the Appellate Advocacy and Guidance Group, “Time and again, he’s shown that he provides exactly the type of advocacy that Robins Kaplan’s appellate group is known for: strategic and insightful representation in challenging, high-stakes litigation.”
In addition to his legal practice, Danas holds several leadership roles in local professional organizations. He is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where he serves on the organization’s State Appellate Judicial Evaluation Committee and the Amicus Briefs Committee. He also holds leadership positions in the California Lawyers Association, where he serves on the Litigation Section’s Committee on Appellate Courts and the Labor and Employment Section’s Executive Committee.
Danas earned his J.D. with Honors from Emory University School of Law, where he was a member of the Emory Law Journal, and undergraduate degree from Cornell University. Following law school, Danas served as a law clerk for the Honorable U.W. Clemon, Chief U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama.
