Christopher Seidl Named an Intellectual Property Trailblazer by The National Law Journal

March 1, 2018

Minneapolis, MN—March 1, 2018— Christopher Seidl, partner in the firm’s Minneapolis office, has been named to The National Law Journal’s list of Intellectual Property Trailblazers. This annual award recognizes the efforts of lawyers who are changing the ways in which IP is protected and managed, and are leading through innovative and exceptional legal strategies. Seidl is one of only 25 individuals honored nationwide.

Over the course of his career, Seidl has earned a reputation as a versatile high-stakes trial lawyer and has served as lead counsel in intellectual property disputes ranging from patent and copyright infringement to trade secret misappropriation to rights of publicity. His victories reflect a rare ability to view his cases from a broader perspective and find legal and business wins for clients in places others aren’t looking.

Seidl’s notable case wins include a patent trial verdict of non-infringement on behalf of Medtronic, Inc., in a case involving implantable cardioverter-defibrillator technology. The trial court’s favorable ruling handed an immensely valuable win to the firm’s client, and the legal issue was impactful enough to be taken up by the U.S. Supreme Court, which affirmed our client’s position.

As chair of the firm’s Global Business and Technology Sourcing Group, Seidl has also established himself as an authority in technology disputes. He is currently helping clients find novel ways to protect and monetize their data.

Seidl has consistently been recognized on the Best Lawyers in America list and has also been named to BTI’s Client Service All-Star list for providing “the absolute best client service.”

Seidl’s profile can be viewed here, and the full list of 2018 Intellectual Property Trailblazers is available here. He is the fourth Robins Kaplan partner to be named to the list since 2014.
