Robins Kaplan LLP Names New Chief Operating Officer

Minneapolis, MN—October 4, 2017—Robins Kaplan LLP® is pleased to announce that Shonette Gaston has joined the firm as chief operating officer, based in the Minneapolis office. With over 25 years in law firm management, Gaston joins Robins Kaplan from Covington & Burling LLP, where she led firm operations for all U.S. offices and Dubai.
“We are thrilled to have Shonette join our team,” said Steve Schumeister, Robins Kaplan’s managing partner. “Her significant law firm management experience will serve to benefit our clients as we continue to optimize our efficiencies and improve upon client service in an evolving legal landscape.”
Before joining Covington in 2014, Gaston served as the director of business unit controversies and Washington-area operations at McDermott Will & Emery LLP and, before that, as the firmwide director of practice group management at O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
Gaston attended Northwestern University’s Kellogg Executive Education program, and received her M.B.A. and undergraduate degrees from the University of Maryland University College.
