Stacey Slaughter Named Executive Director of International Financial Litigation Network
December 2, 2016
December 2, 2016—Robins Kaplan LLP® partner Stacey Slaughter has been elected the Executive Director of the International Financial Litigation Network (IFLN), a leading global litigation network formed by more than 40 law firms in 20 countries to provide the experience, resources, and communication to effectively apply and maximize the use of collaborative tools in complex legal matters. Ms. Slaughter was elected by members of the network to serve in this role.
Recently named one of Law360’s Most Influential Women in Securities Law, Ms. Slaughter represents businesses, organizations, institutional investors, shareholders, and brokers that face significant commercial disputes, complex business problems, and novel legal issues. One of the most consequential cases she has been involved with in recent years is Dahl et al. v. Bain Capital Partners et. al, which alleged a multi-year conspiracy among the country’s largest private equity funds to drive down the prices for leveraged buyouts of publicly traded companies. Defendants in the case included many of the largest and most recognized private equity firms, including The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and Bain Capital Partners.
In her role as IFLN Executive Director, Ms. Slaughter will coordinate the network’s annual conferences in the United States and abroad, where member firms and their constituents convene to discuss new and ongoing cross-border matters and other litigation issues of importance. She will also be responsible for identifying potential new IFLN members and leading all major initiatives for the global network.
The network’s member firms represent a broad spectrum of parties, both plaintiffs and defendants, involved in complex, cross-border financial disputes — such as individual and institutional investors, banks, hedge funds, and insurers. IFLN is designed, in part, to help attorneys better serve their clients in financial matters by identifying sophisticated and experienced counsel in other jurisdictions in which their clients may have disputes.
