July 2014
MINNEAPOLIS, July 2014 – Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by Legal 500 USA 2014 as among the nation’s top firms in the area of Mass Tort and Class Action: Plaintiff Representation – Antitrust. Hollis Salzman, Co-chair of the practice group is also named to the Guide’s List of 11 Leading Lawyers in the same category.
Legal 500, which recommends law firms and attorneys in a variety of practice areas based solely on merit, notes that Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is an “excellent, preeminent firm in the class action field.” The guide recommends Salzman as “smart, knowledgeable and thorough” while Salzman and Kellie Lerner are both praised for their “superior intellect, determination and political savvy in getting the job done.”
The guide highlights the team’s involvement in “major antitrust litigation, including In re Air Cargo Shipping Services, In re Automotive Parts, and In re Payment Card Interchange Fee and Merchant Discount Antitrust Litigation.” The latter, led by practice group co-chair, Craig Wildfang, resulted in a groundbreaking $7.3 billion settlement on behalf of a class.
Wildfang currently serves as Co-Lead Counsel in Dahl v. Bain Capital Partners. In June, The Goldman Sachs Group and Bain Capital Partners agreed to pay a total $121 million settlement to resolve plaintiffs’ claims. The case continues against the remaining defendants.
Salzman currently serves as court appointed Co-Lead Counsel in In re Automotive Parts Antitrust Litigation, a private civil action that stems from one of the largest Department of Justice criminal investigations in U.S. history and in In re Air Cargo Shipping Services Antitrust Litigation (over $848 million in partial settlements from certain defendants to date).
Lerner currently serves as Co-Lead Counsel in In re Keurig Green Mountain Single Serve Coffee Antitrust Litigation and In re Merck Mumps Vaccine Antitrust Class Action. Recently, she was recognized by The New York Law Journal as a 2013 Rising Star for her accomplishments in the New York legal community.
