October 2012
MINNEAPOLIS (October 2012) – Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is pleased to announce that the Firm has once again been ranked by Vault among the best 25 law firms in the country to work for in the area of formal training and professional development, for the fifth consecutive year.
“The ranking speaks volumes to the Firm’s commitment to developing world class lawyers at every level and is the direct result of the time and effort our attorneys have given to our various programs,” said Matthew L. Woods, Chair of the Professional Development program at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. in Minneapolis. “The rankings also help to reinforce to our clients that we hire and train the best and we are serious about reinvesting in the next generation of attorneys.”
One of the Firm’s most lauded programs is The Exceptional Advocate program, a unique and incomparable associate training program that grooms trial attorneys during three distinct training phases with a curriculum that is setting a standard for associate training nationwide.
Associates are matched with seasoned partners who serve as mentors who guide them through hands-on practical courtroom training. The program focuses on areas such as deposition techniques and teaching trial courtroom skills. Trial instruction begins for second-year associates and is carried out over a period of several years, ranging from conducting oral arguments in the first phase, to trying mock complex business litigation cases against a senior partner before volunteer judges during the final phase of the program. The trial training takes place in the firm’s state-of-the-art courtroom, The Michael V. Ciresi Center for Exceptional Advocacy, one of the most technologically advanced courtrooms in the nation and located in the firm’s Minneapolis headquarters.
