Seth Zawila, CIPP/US

Seth Zawila is a trial attorney who represents the injured in their fight against tortfeasors who have done wrong. Persistent and thoughtful, Seth cuts through the legalese and promptly brings results and understanding that his clients deserve. He has represented victims throughout the country in numerous medical malpractice and tort actions, ranging from negligently executed surgery to negligent diagnoses and drug prescriptions. Importantly, he has consistently secured compensation for victims suffering pain, life-altering conditions like paralysis, or those with loved ones who died as a result of negligent surgery and medical care.

Seth is an active member of the Minnesota Association for Justice, Hennepin County Bar Association, and Minnesota State Bar Association. Before graduating with honors from law school, Seth graduated high school in Sweden, lived in Saudi Arabia, and served a year of AmeriCorps in Alabama. In his free time, Seth enjoys spending time with his wife, two cats, and going on walks around Lake of the Isles.

Seth represented a man who was cleared for a minor surgical procedure despite having numerous known and diagnosed heart conditions. During the procedure, medical equipment alarmed personnel of a loss of oxygen to the patient. Sadly, the personnel failed to intervene for several crucial minutes. By the time intervention eventually occurred, the patient had a catastrophic and irreversible brain injury. Seth and his colleagues were able to secure a settlement on behalf of the man for $4,000,000.

Seth represented a woman who was injured during a surgical procedure, a spinal cord stimulator placement, which resulted in an injury to her spinal cord with quadriplegia and severe ongoing pain. After initiating a lawsuit and preparing the case for trial, Seth and his colleagues were able to secure a settlement on behalf of the woman for $2,500,000.

Seth represented a woman whose medical providers failed to counsel her to receive highly recommended MRI mammogram imaging due to her family’s history of breast cancer. The woman had also received standard mammogram imaging, but medical providers missed highly concerning findings on that mammogram that identified the beginning stages of breast cancer. Seth and his colleagues secured a settlement on behalf of the woman’s family for $2,250,000.

Seth represented a man who underwent a spine procedure. During the procedure, medical monitoring, known as intraoperative neuromonitoring, identified a highly alarming loss of responsive signal for the man’s nerves. Despite this loss of responsive, medical providers did not intervene and the man was rendered an incomplete quadriplegic. After taking depositions and just months before trial, Seth and his colleagues secured a settlement on behalf of the man’s family for $1,830,000

Seth represented a woman who received a positive test for a highly concerning heart infection during a hospital visit, but was discharged from the hospital without treatment for that infection. After the woman went home, she sadly suffered a severe stroke from the untreated infection which resulted in significant permanent disabilities. Seth and his colleagues were able to secure a $995,000 settlement on behalf of the woman.
