Overview

Bill Kolb brings more than 25 years of experience advising domestic and international insurers on a wide range of complex insurance coverage matters. His practice spans first- and third-party claims, with a particular focus on commercial property, builder's risk, marine and inland marine, construction-related issues, and specialized insurance programs such as controlled insurance plans (CIPs). He also counsels clients on exposures related to cyber risk, reinsurance disputes, and fraudulent claims.

Bill has handled major losses stemming from catastrophic events across the U.S. and internationally, including significant claims arising from hurricanes such as Katrina, Ike, Irene, Sandy, Harvey, Irma, Maria, and Isaac. His work also extends to environmental, product, and professional liability claims, as well as serious industrial and construction accidents.

In addition to litigating insurance disputes—including trials, appeals, arbitrations, and appraisals—Bill advises on policy language, claims strategy, and complex coverage questions. His deep understanding of large-scale property losses includes matters involving industrial equipment failures, power and energy systems, renewable energy infrastructure, hospitality venues, and manufacturing facilities.

A frequent speaker at industry conferences, Bill presents on evolving coverage issues such as builder’s risk, structural collapse, delay in completion, business interruption, ingress/egress, and multi-peril events. His practical insight and technical knowledge make him a trusted advisor on high-stakes insurance matters.
