Experience
Kenneth Taketa concentrates his practice on representing foreign and domestic insurers in complex first-party coverage disputes concerning property, builder’s risk, product recall, and cyber losses. He collaborates with engineering, building, and accounting consultants to ensure complex claims are adjusted in accordance with policy terms, case law, and applicable law.
Kenneth has extensive experience drafting pre-trial motions, pleadings, and motions for summary judgement and summary adjudication.
While attending the University of California Hastings College of Law, Kenneth was elected to the Order of the Coif and Thurston Honors Society and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Negotiations, Federal Securities Regulation, and California Community Property. He also competed on the Hastings Intercollegiate Moot Court Team, where he received honors for oral advocacy and appellate brief writing.Wilshire Vermont Housing Partners, L.P. v. Lexington Ins. Co. et al., Los Angeles Superior Court – Complex Civil Dept. Complex civil litigation between insured and primary/excess insurers regarding a $150 million dispute for property and business interruption losses. Drafted multiple discovery motions, case management statements, and three summary adjudication motions. (Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP)
