An experienced litigator whose clients have included institutional clients involved in complex commercial litigation, Lucas Messenger has an extensive background representing global financial services companies, hedge funds and energy companies. Areas in which Mr. Messenger regularly manages litigation for clients include:

Other Experience:

Mr. Messenger served a two-year clerkship with The Honorable Carolyn Turchin, United States Magistrate Judge, United States District Court, Central District of California, from 2001 to 2003.

Represented Best Buy in multidistrict litigation over alleged price-fixing in the market for cathode ray tubes in televisions. The claims resulted in confidential settlements with several large electronics manufacturers, including LG, Panasonic, and Toshiba.

Obtained a complete defense verdict in a dishonest bookkeeper action on behalf of a national bank as second chair in a month-long jury trial in the Superior Court of California.

Represented financial services clients in multiple class actions arising from alleged violations of the Civil Rights Act, Fair Housing Act, Consumer Repair Organizations Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, California Commodity Law, Unfair Competition Law and Consumer Legal Remedies Act.

Represented creditors in bankruptcy adversary proceedings, including the senior creditors in the SonicBlue bankruptcy.

Served as counsel to energy companies in connection with California’s electricity crisis in multidistrict class action litigation and federal and state regulatory matters.

Represented a Japanese electronics company in multi-district SRAM litigation.

Provided ongoing representation to an international consulting company in numerous non-party discovery disputes in state and federal court proceedings.
