Haroon Mian is an associate in the New York office of Robins Kaplan LLP and a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology group. Haroon represents clients in patent infringement, Hatch-Waxman and trade secret misappropriation litigations. Haroon also works with patent owners to develop patent portfolio monetization strategies, including licensing and litigation strategies.
Prior to working as an IP litigator, Haroon earned a B.A. in Cellular Biology & Neuroscience from Rutgers University, and studied Medicine for two years at the St. George’s University School of Medicine. Haroon then earned his J.D. at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was the Executive Teams Editor of the Moot Court Honor Society and a fellow in the Cardozo Tech Start Up Clinic. As a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, Haroon and his team placed first in America in the international Oxford University Price Media Moot Court Competition.
Although his studies focused on the life sciences, Haroon has worked on a wide range of cases and subject matter, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, battery separators, artificial intelligence, and trademarks. Haroon is actively involved in his community and a member of the Cardozo/Google Patent Diversity project, working to help increase patent ownership among women and minorities in the New York City area.
