Overview

Lauren Roso is a fierce advocate in and out of the courtroom, who uses her keen intellect and compassion to fight for her clients. She represents clients in complex civil rights, government investigations, and business litigation matters, with a particular focus on cases involving police misconduct, excessive force, and jail and prison abuse.

For the past decade, both in private practice and most recently in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota’s Criminal Division, Lauren has worked tirelessly to hold individuals, companies, and government actors accountable for their actions. At Robins Kaplan, Lauren draws on her experience working with and training law enforcement officials to vindicate the rights of her clients who have suffered injustice at the hands of the state.

As a former federal prosecutor, Lauren has litigated dozens of matters to jury verdict or resolution. Her experience includes prosecuting complex narcotics trafficking, money laundering, and violent crimes, as well as investigating and charging national security threats and human rights abuses. As a Senior Litigation Counsel, Lauren also supervised trial teams and trained new attorneys in addition to maintaining a full case load.

Prior to her time at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Lauren worked for a Minneapolis-based international law firm counseling clients facing government and internal investigations. She also maintained a robust pro bono practice that provided ample time in both state and federal court.

Earlier in her career, she clerked for former Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Lorie S. Gildea after receiving her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School.
