Overview
Jennifer Leland is skilled advisor and litigator with experience representing clients across a diverse range of industries in complex federal and state court matters, guiding them from pre-trial strategy and mediation through trial and appeal.
She is a member of the firm’s Insurance and Business Litigation Groups. Ms. Leland’s insurance practice involves representing insurers in high-exposure property damage and business interruption claims arising from catastrophic events such as fires, windstorms, and infrastructure failures. Ms. Leland brings a strong strategic mindset and attention to detail to her insurance practice, helping clients navigate highly technical and regulated environments.
She also handles a broad range of business and commercial litigation matters, representing both businesses and individuals in disputes involving breach of contract, unfair competition, false advertising, breach of fiduciary duty, and real estate issues, among others.
Ms. Leland earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, where she served as an Executive Articles Editor for the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review. She completed a postgraduate internship with the National Organization for Women (NOW) in New York and clerked for Nevada Supreme Court Justice Charles E. Springer.
In addition to her practice, Ms. Leland is committed to legal education and has served as an adjunct professor at both Loyola Law School and USC Gould School of Law. She taught Legal Drafting at Loyola, and Legal Research, Writing, and Advocacy at USC.
Ms. Leland is the past President of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA) (2019-2020) and the WLALA Foundation (2021-2023). She has also served on the Los Angeles Lawyer Editorial Board and the Law360 California Editorial Board. Ms. Leland is also dedicated to pro bono service and has been honored multiple times with the Wiley M. Manuel Pro Bono Certificate by the California Lawyers Association for providing more than 50 hours of pro bono legal work.
