Attorney

Experience
After over a decade in the service industry, Emme DeGayner brings to Robins Kaplan finessed interpersonal skills, a unique perspective, and a sense of humor that when combined with her legal knowledge and experience in cases ranging from business litigation matters to large-scale mass tort cases, makes her a true asset to any case team.
Emme has experience in a wide array of litigation areas including corporate restructuring and bankruptcy, mortgage-backed securities, defective pharmaceuticals and personal injury. She assists in many stages of litigation, from assessing individual cases of potential mass tort clients to reconciling and analyzing pharmaceutical settlement claims. She developed case-specific procedures for intake of potential mass tort clients and maintained frequent contact with retained clients throughout their cases. She made sure each client was kept up to date and not left with lingering questions.
During discovery, she develops a thorough understanding of factual and legal issues to provide meaningful and substantive insight to litigation teams based on discovery materials. She also assists with discovery motions, privilege logs and deposition preparation.
Emme also dedicates time to pro bono efforts involving family law. Most recently, she handled multiple Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases, where she represented non-documented children living with family in the United States, who suffered abuse, neglect or abandonment by a parent gain status as lawful permanent residents of the United States.
When not immersed in legal work, Emme can be found chasing around her young daughter and two dogs, devouring the latest psychological thriller, or baking a myriad of sugar-laden treats to share with friends.
