Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Stacey Slaughter and Emily Niles have been named to Minnesota Lawyer’s third annual Top Women in Law class, celebrating the outstanding achievements of women in Minnesota’s legal community. Honorees were selected based on the core principles of leadership, professionalism, accomplishment, and passion for making a difference.

A nationally recognized antitrust litigator with more than 25 years of experience, Stacey Slaughter has helped secure over $6 billion in recoveries for consumers, investors, and businesses. Her work spans some of the most high-profile antitrust cases in the country, including the $5.6 billion Payment Card Interchange Fee settlement—the largest private antitrust recovery in Sherman Act history.

In the past year alone, Stacey has taken on leadership roles in several of the nation's most significant antitrust cases. She serves as the Court-appointed Interim Co-Lead Counsel in the RealPage Antitrust Litigation and Lead Counsel in the Granulated Sugar Antitrust Litigation—cases that sit at the forefront of competition law and have drawn attention from the U.S. Department of Justice and state attorneys general.

Beyond the courtroom, Stacey demonstrates exceptional commitment to public service, mentorship, and advocacy for market fairness, particularly supporting women and younger attorneys in litigation careers. A former member of Robins Kaplan's Executive Board, Stacey continues to champion initiatives that support diversity in the legal field and has been appointed Co-Chair of the Federal Bar Association's Minnesota Chapter Antitrust Committee. She is consistently recognized by Chambers USA, Lawdragon, and Benchmark Litigation for her accomplishments.

Emily Niles is a nationally recognized trial attorney who represents clients in high-stakes intellectual property and complex business disputes. She has served as trial counsel in cases involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and technology licensing, often securing multimillion-dollar results. Notable victories include a $71.4 million judgment from a landmark $42.4 million jury verdict in a patent case, a complete defense verdict in another patent case, and a $27.8 million verdict in a personal injury matter. Her litigation success spans a wide range of industries, from consumer products and mobile applications to aerospace and medical devices.

Emily is known for her strategic, thorough approach and ability to manage all phases of litigation. She also brings experience litigating before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and is a registered patent attorney in litigation before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Recognized for her accomplishments and leadership, Emily has been honored as an Attorney of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer, a Rising Star by Law360, and listed in The Best Lawyers in America.

Emily is passionate about pursuing justice for clients and across the legal community. She has dedicated time to pro bono service, representing clients in immigration and family law matters. She regularly volunteers for the Transgender Name Change Clinics in partnership with OutFront Minnesota. Emily is currently a board member for The Infinity Project and has served on the Young Professionals Board of Cornerstone Advocacy Services and the University of St. Thomas School of Law Alumni Board.

Honorees will be celebrated at an awards event on Thursday, October 16, in Minneapolis.
