Seven Associates Join Robins Kaplan LLP in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, MN—December 21, 2015—Robins Kaplan LLP welcomes seven new associates who have joined the firm in Minneapolis: George Ashenmacher, Sam Ellingson, Sarah Friedricks, Shui Li, Anthony Schlehuber, Chelsea Walcker, and Lindsey Wheeler.

George Ashenmacher is an attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation Group. He obtained both a law degree and master’s degree in mass communication at the University of Minnesota. While attending law school, Ashenmacher assisted veterans in finding legal solutions through the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, externed for a state judge, and honed his advocacy ability as a member of the Intellectual Property Moot Court team. He received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from St. John’s University.

Sam Ellingson focuses her practice on business litigation, strategically meeting the diverse needs of both individuals and large companies. She attended the University of Michigan Law School where she served as a student attorney in both the Litigation and Human Trafficking Clinics and was articles editor for the Michigan Journal of Gender & Law. Ellingson has assisted with cases in numerous states’ courts, the Eights and Sixth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She holds a bachelor’s degree in law, jurisprudence & social thought from Amherst College.

Sarah Friedricks focuses her practice on business litigation, serving a wide variety of clients with a range of business disputes. She attended law school at the University of Iowa where she honed her writing and advocacy skills as a member of the school’s National Trial Advocacy team and as managing editor for the Journal of Corporation Law. She also worked with the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence and donated a significant portion of time to various volunteer organizations, which earned her the Boyd Service Award with high honors upon graduation. Friedricks holds a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in political science from the University of Southern California.

Shui Li focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation and monetization. She attended the University of Wisconsin Law School where she served as president of the Intellectual Property Student Organization and interned for the Honorable Justice Michael Gableman of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Li holds a master’s degree in medicinal chemistry and drug design from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Anthony Schlehuber is a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation. He graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he was a member of the National Moot Court team and was trained as a certified neutral mediator as part of a local mediation clinic. Schlehuber received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in aerospace engineering.

Chelsea Walcker represents individuals and institutional clients in complex business litigation and appellate matters. Prior to joining Robins Kaplan she clerked for the Honorable Donovan W. Frank of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Walcker earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as executive editor of the Georgetown Law Review. She also holds a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Barnard College, Columbia University.

Lindsey Wheeler is a dedicated advocate for those who have experienced injury and loss, focusing her practice on personal injury and medical malpractice. She earned a J.D. summa cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law, where she served as author and assistant editor for the William Mitchell Law Review and a student attorney in the William Mitchell Immigration Clinic. Wheeler also volunteered through the Minnesota Justice Foundation and worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jeffrey J. Keyes of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history and Latin American studies from Grinnell College.
