Kathleen Edmond, former corporate Chief Ethics Officer for a Fortune 100 company, can assist tribes to design, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of their compliance and ethics programs, compliance policies, employee and board training, and related risk activities. Her specific services can be tailored to the tribe’s needs and organizational culture. 

For small to mid-size tribes she can serve as “on-call” compliance counsel as they establish or improve their compliance / ethics programs. For these tribes, she can help conduct a compliance risk analysis, and subsequently determine the processes and internal controls that would best fit their culture, resource availability, and risk tolerance. Board and employee training as well as independent compliance program audits and internal investigations round out this suite of services.

For larger tribes, the compliance team will conduct sensitive ethics / compliance investigations, train in-house staff to conduct those that do not need to be privileged, and work with the internal audit department to design, tailor, and oversee for privilege the compliance program audit plan. Kathleen is also available as independent counsel for the new or experienced in-house compliance officer, as well as Tribal council, leadership, and employee training.
