One of the most talked about topics in Indian Country today is Cannabis. This TICA webinar will provide an inside look at what every Tribal In-House Counsel should know about marijuana and hemp in Indian Country. The webinar will be led by Tim Purdon and Brendan Johnson, who were selected by President Obama to serve as the United States Attorneys in North Dakota and South Dakota. During their time with the Justice Department, Purdon and Johnson championed tribal sovereignty and worked with Tribal leaders to implement the Tribal Law and Order Act and the Violence Against Women Act. They both chaired the Department of Justice’s ("DOJ") Native American Issues Subcommittee and were personally involved in major policy decisions impacting Indian Country. They are now Co-Chairs of the Robins Kaplan LLP American Indian Law and Policy Group.
