Fungal Meningitis Outbreak

According to The Center for Disease Control, as many as 14,000 patients across 23 states may have contracted fungal meningitis from allegedly tainted steroidal drugs traced back to a Massachusetts compounding pharmacy, the New England Compounding Center (NECC).[1]  The Minnesota Department of Health has confirmed that at least two health centers in Minnesota received shipments of the medication which has been linked to 4 confirmed cases of fungal meningitis in Minnesota so far.[2] Nationwide, the drugs are implicated in 15 deaths and 200 cases of confirmed meningitis thus far.  Learn more here.
