Former Chief Ethics Officer at Best Buy Joins Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P.

MINNEAPOLIS (April 2014) – Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is pleased to announce that Kathleen K. Edmond has joined the firm as Of Counsel with the Business Litigation Group in the firm’s Minneapolis office.

Most recently, Edmond led Best Buy’s ethics program as its Chief Ethics Officer. At Best Buy, Edmond established the company’s nationally recognized Ethics Office, chaired its Ethics Committee, created triage and investigation protocols and managed complex and sensitive ethics investigations, among other matters.

Edmond has received numerous awards in recognition of her substantive expertise in the area of legal ethics. She was the 2013 recipient of 9th Annual Compliance and Ethics Award given by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics and the 2012 recipient of the Carol R. Marshall Award for Innovation in Corporate Ethics given by the Ethics Resources Center in Washington, DC.

Currently, Edmond serves as an Advisory Board Member for University of St. Thomas Law School where she provides curriculum guidance for the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Organizational Ethics and Compliance program. She is also an Executive Fellow at the Center for Ethical Business Cultures at the University of St. Thomas where she studies the intersection of ethical theory and evolving trends in business.

Edmond earned her J.D., cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, her M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas, her M.S.W. from the University of Minnesota, and her B.A., cum laude, from Augsburg College.
