Four Partners Named to Lawdragon 500 Leading Civil Rights & Plaintiff Employment Lawyers Guide
July 30, 2024
Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that partners Robert Bennett, Katie Bennett, Marc Betinsky, and Andrew Noel have been recognized in the 2024 Lawdragon 500 Leading Civil Rights & Plaintiff Employment Lawyers guide. This list honors exceptional lawyers who have made significant impacts in the fields of civil rights and employment law.
Robert Bennett, Katie Bennett, Marc Betinsky, and Andrew Noel are members of the firm’s Civil Rights and Police Misconduct Group. The team has achieved unprecedented success in cases involving a variety of claims, including unreasonable seizures, use of excessive force including improper deadly force, jail and prison suicides, and deliberate indifference to a prisoner’s serious medical and mental health needs.
Their work has changed the legal landscape for civil rights law and resulted in millions of dollars for victims. In one notable recent result, they secured a $12.2 million settlement on behalf of client Terrance Dwayne Winborn, who suffered severe and permanent injuries, including the eventual amputation of his arms below the elbows, while he was incarcerated at Scott County Jail in Shakopee, Minnesota. It is believed to be the largest settlement amount of its kind in Minnesota to date.
Together, the group’s accolades include recognition in The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, the Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers guide, Minnesota Lawyer’s POWER 30 list, Minnesota Lawyer’s Attorneys of the Year, and more.
