Law360, NEW YORK, August 5, 2015—On March 26, 2015, the United Kingdom enacted the Consumer Protection Act 2015. Set to take effect on Oct. 1, 2015, the new law has been lauded by many for its progressive expansion of a collective private enforcement regime for competition law cases. While raising the stakes for companies engaged in violations of competition law, the law also opens the door to U.K. claimants seeking redress for losses caused by those violations.
