Experience
Lauren Coppola is an experienced commercial litigator who focuses her practice on telecommunications, construction, and contract disputes. Whether advocating for large corporations or small, closely held companies, Lauren invests the time necessary to understand her client’s business operations and to develop a strategy designed to achieve her client’s unique business goals.
Lauren thrives in the cutting-edge arena of telecommunications, where regulations must evolve quickly to match the breakneck pace of technological development. She has a deep understanding of the nuances of telecommunications technology and a proven ability to translate that knowledge into a clear and compelling argument for judges and juries.
In addition to her telecommunications work, Lauren also represents companies across a broad spectrum of complex commercial law matters, including contract disputes, civil RICO, fraud, license disputes, and environmental concerns.
Lauren is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law. She has represented clients in venues across the country, including U.S. courts of appeals, tribal courts, and the Federal Communications Commission.
Obtained a defense judgment for one of the world’s largest conference calling companies after federal court trial in which Qwest Communications Corp. sought to hold client liable for more than $2 million for terminating access and other charges. (Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP)
Achieved favorable settlement for one of the world’s largest conference calling companies in license dispute concerning complex intellectual property. (Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP)
Counsel for Tribally owned telephone company in South Dakota in multiple disputes in federal court and administrative proceedings. (Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP)
Negotiated settlements in favor of general contractor who defaulted on large scale Boston public construction contract. (Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP)
Attained judgment for breach of commercial lease and defended against eminent domain defenses. (Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP)
Obtained jury verdict against business owner for breach of non-competition agreement and asset purchase agreement. (Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP)
Represented large hedge fund in liquidation in private arbitration against investors with over $100 million in claims asserted against it. (Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP)
