I am registered nurse and spent seventeen years working primarily in large metropolitan hospitals with a focus in the post anesthesia recovery setting (PACU) caring for cardiac, thoracic, vascular, neurological, orthopedic, gynecological, obstetrical, urological, pediatric and general surgical patients. I also worked in rural, small and intermediate sized hospitals were I wrote and implemented policies and procedures for a new PACU, acted as hospital supervisor and worked in their emergency departments.
After earning a B.A. in Business from the University of St. Thomas I expanded my nursing role as a legal nurse consultant (LNC) at Robins Kaplan LLP in the Mass Tort department. I am a founding member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. Through our work, LNCs became a recognized subspecialty in nursing by the National League for Nursing. I have worked in medical malpractice at other large and small law firms. In addition, I have worked in the medical device industry in the area of compliance, identifying potential product hazards and reporting adverse events to national and international regulatory agencies.
I returned to Robins Kaplan LLP to continue my work as an LNC in the Mass Tort Group, working closely with the attorneys who advocate for those who have been injured by defective drugs or medical devices. I strive to integrate my medical expertise to the medical issues in each case throughout the legal process.
