Aaron J. Sussman has spent his entire legal career adjudicating complex matters and leading them to and through trial. He has represented insurers, government entities, and consumers through every stage of litigation, and he has led complex multi-agency investigations and drafted complaints. Mr. Sussman has also taken and defended witness and expert depositions, including multiple multi-day depositions of opposing Persons Most Qualified, written and argued countless discovery motions, including dispositive motions, and taken cases to trial, achieving favorable verdicts—both civil and criminal—in every matter that he has litigated. In civil, criminal, and administrative matters, he has represented insurers, contractors, injured workers, and government entities.
Prior to joining Robins Kaplan LLP, Mr. Sussman developed a winning record as a trial attorney. For two years, he served as a criminal prosecutor at the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s office; he handled a felony caseload, focusing on white collar crime, particularly insurance fraud in the fields of construction and contracting. Previously, Mr. Sussman served as a litigator at two law firms in the Los Angeles area, focusing his practice on personal injury and mass tort cases. Mr. Sussman has represented clients in criminal, civil, and administrative courts—including both state and federal courts—throughout the state of California.
